The new worldwide standard, ISO 45001, offers businesses a framework for enhancing employee safety, lowering workplace risks, and creating stronger, safer working conditions. A future ISO standard called ISO 45001 will codify the requirements for occupational safety and health management systems all around the world. When it is implemented, ISO 45001 will essentially be a more situationally version of the current OHSAS 18001 standard.
The new protocol was inspired by OHSAS 18001 (often referred to as ISO 18001), a British standard that has so far been applied internationally. In addition to the high-level framework shared by all or any new quality management systems, it is a consequence and employs the well-known “plan-do-check-act” methodology.
